Ron Slee is President of R.J. Slee & Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in the operational aspects of businesses in the Heavy Equipment, Material Handling and Data Processing Services Industries. The company, an AED sustaining member, is headquartered in Rancho Mirage, California. In nearly thirty years in the industry, R.J. Slee & Associates has worked with several hundred dealerships, distributors and manufacturers located in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Russia and Latin America.

Between his work with dealerships representing most of the major manufacturers and his management experience in dealerships, Ron has gained first-hand direct knowledge of the challenges and opportunities most dealerships confront in the Parts and Service operations.

The specific focus of Ron’s consulting work has been to assist dealers in overcoming challenges presented in the following difficult and constantly changing areas:

	Productivity - methods, systems and procedures
	Penetration - market share improvement
	Profitability - dollar and percent improvement

Emphasis has been in the areas of Parts, Service and Product Support Sales. These areas of the company have the most employees, the most customer contact, the most processing demand and also provide the most important challenge in the realization of business potential.

Ron also provides training seminars through Quest, Learning Centers – which offers training for Komatsu, Volvo and Ditch Witch dealers throughout the world – as well as financial counseling and best practice implementation through Insight (M&R) Institute. Additionally, he also conducts market research and authors articles on pertinent subjects relating to market penetration, productivity and dealer profitability.

A native of Alberta, Canada, Ron majored in Mathematics and Physics at Sir George Williams University. He went on to teach at McGill University in the Faculty of Education and work at Hewitt Equipment and Finning Tractor prior to starting his own business in 1980. Ron and his wife of more than three decades, Marlene, are proud parents of one daughter and two grandchildren and live in the warmth of the Southern California desert.
